The 2012 movies have been so-so but revenues and attendance are up around 14 percent from a year ago.
"Chronicle" was No. 1 for the week, just edging "The Woman in Black," according to estimates from hollywood.com.
As always, they will be updated on Monday.
Here is how the weekend shapes up:
1. "Chronicle" — $22,000,000.
2. "The Woman in Black" — $21,000,000.
3. "The Grey" — $9,500,000, for $34,756,533 in its first two weeks.
4. "Big Miracle" — $8,484,065.
5. "Underworld: Awakening" — $5,600,000, bringing its three-week total to $54,353,000.
6."One for the Money" — $5,250,000, for $19,667,987 in its first two weeks.
7. "Red Tails" — $5,000,000, for $41,323,458 in three weeks.
8. "The Descendants" — $4,600,000, for $65,522,652 thus far.
9. "Man on a Ledge" — $4,460,000, for $14,724,774 to date.
10."Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close" — $3,925,000, for a running total of $26,793,000.
Hollywood.com also released these figures for the year:
Year to date revenues for 2012: $967,478,052.
Year to date revenues for 2011: $850,005,650.
Revenue is up 13.82 percent and attendance also has climbed by 14.54 percent.
