First came the tidal wave of summer concert announcements.
Now comes a ripple of cancellations. Two in one day.
Christina Aguilera and Limp Bizkit both scrapped their summer tours yesterday -- Christina saying she didn't have enough preparation time and Bizkit because, as Fred Durst said, “Limp is not an amphitheatre band.”
We probably could have told him that.
Durst claimed that there would be no room to mosh at the sheds. We suspect there weren't enough people to mosh. A source tells me that the advance sales in some cities were about the level of a small club gig.
As for Christina, it's hard to believe that lack of a rehearsal time would be cause to cancel a tour. It's more likely that they couldn't sell it until they generated a hit or two from "Bionic," which isn't coming out until June 8.
Maybe we'll see her here this summer in some other venue, at some other date.
