The ultra-violent, ultra gory "Machete" coming out Friday isn't being screened for critics here but it's gotten great buzz from lovers of such things, as well as folks who can't resist Robert Rodriguez films and sexy tough girls Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez.
And then there's Robert De Niro -- what's he doing in this film? It's as jarring as Jon Hamm in Zack Snyder's "Sucker Punch." But that's getting off the bloody track ...
The red band trailer for "Machete" has a bit of nudity and so many sharp objects meeting skin that I barely got through to the "large intestine scene." Believe me, if you don't know what I'm talking about, you will be hearing a lot about this when the movie opens on Friday.
For the squeamish like me who may want to get some idea of the gory scope of "Machete," which Robert Rodriguez has been planning for 15 years, with star Danny Trejo in mind, there's a Lego trailer version of the red-band trailer -- you read that right -- at Horror.Break.com.
Ah, the plastic carnage!
