I'm liking the dynamic look of the Pittsburgh Comicon website, which I hadn't visited for a while. The con is April 20-22 at the Monroeville Convention Center and features a return visit by Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee, who also attended in September 2009.
Artwork shown on the website for a charity auction includes a 2012 limited print featuring Lee and drawn by Jim Balent (right). Check out some of Lee's current projects by visiting his POW Entertainment website.
Other big-name visitors from the comic-book work include George Perez, and there will be an appearance by Peter Mayhew, who donned the hairy Wookiee suit as Chewbacca.
And speaking of "Star Wars," ...
Mayhew's castmates, Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) and Anthony Daniels (C3P0) will be among an ecletic group of guests at the Steel City Con March 2-4, also at the Monroeville Convention Center. Daniels will attend Saturday only, and Williams will be there Saturday and Sunday.
The Steel City Con's eclectic lineup also features: Christopher Knight (Peter) and Susan Olsen (Cindy) of "The Brady Bunch"; Ian Ziering from "Beverly Hills: 90210"; and some stars of Sid & Marty Krofft shows: Wesley Eure and Kathleen Coleman from "The Land of the Lost"; Johnny Whitaker from "Sigmund and the Sea Monsters" and "Family Affair"; and Butch Patrick, from "Lidsville" but best known as Eddie on "The Munsters."
For more names, times and fees, visit the Pittsburgh Comicon and Steel City Con websites.
