I’ve been deeply impressed by the commitment to orphans, locally and globally, manifested at North Way Christian Community in Pine.

This is part of a widespread movement among American evangelicals who are trying to assist the millions of children worldwide who have lost one or both parents, or are in imminent danger of doing so. It promotes adoption, foster care, as well as efforts to strengthen families that are on the verge of falling apart.

For several years now North Way has offered an annual OrphanCare Expo, where people can go to learn about a wide array of ways to assist imperiled young people in their communities and on the other side of the world.

This year’s expo will be held Saturday, Nov. 12, frome 8 a.m. to 1  p.m. in North Way Christian Community, 12121 Perry Highway in Pine (better known to most folks as Wexford). Exhibitors represent both Christian and secular aid groups. If you’ve ever wanted to find a way to help a child in need, this is one of the best places to explore your options.
