Who knew that a former editor of The Pittsburgh Catholic could be so cool?
A song that Bridgeville resident Mike Aquilina co-wrote with fifties teen hearthrob Dion has made the Playlist of recommended new music in Rolling Stone. Dion DiMucci is a convert to Catholicism, and teamed up with Mike (who is better known for collabortation with Cardinal Donald Wuerl of Washington, DC) to write his memoir.
In the process, they also wrote some songs together.
"He asked if I wanted to work with him on them. How do you say no to a question like that?! I share songwriting credits on five songs on the new CD. We've also written some material for the next CD -- and for a forthcoming Broadway show based on his life," Mike said.
The song in question is "I read it (in the Rolling Stone)," so perhaps that helped with the heads-up from the magazine, which also gave the album a stellar review. The album, "Tank Full of Blues" is already a bestseller on Amazon.although it has yet to be released.
