Interstate 79 in Washington County will have a northbound lane restriction from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday starting at the U.S. 40-Laboratory exit and continuing to the south junction with I-70. Drivers who want to go east on I-70 will have to exit at Laboratory and follow Routes 40 and 519. The ramp from I-79 to westbound I-70 will be open. Crews will be setting barrier for the work zone on a huge project to redo that ridiculous I-79 and I-70 interchange.
Our sharp-eyed photographer Bob Donaldson reports that a contractor will remove part of the demolished railroad bridge in the West End Circle on Thursday, with no lane closures scheduled but possibly some rubbernecking delays.
Inbound Route 28 will be down to one lane from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday as Equitable Gas crews disconnect lines between the 31st Street Bridge and the East Ohio Street exit. PennDOT says to expect delays.
Lane closures will continue on Interstate 579-Crosstown Boulevard between the Liberty Bridge and Veterans Bridge as needed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through Feb. 24 while crews work on overhead bridges.
