Installation of cable median wire and guard rail will continue on Interstate 79 in the Wexford-Cranberry area next week, with intermittent lane closures on this schedule: northbound, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Exits 72-73 (I-279 and Wexford) and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Exits 73-76 (Wexford and Cranberry/Route 19); southbound, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. between Exits 78-73 (Cranberry/PA Turnpike and Wexford). No work will occur next Friday and southbound restrictions will end by 5 p.m. Wednesday so as not to impede traffic headed for the Penguins game.
PennDOT District 12, which includes Washington County, is planning to correct a jarring stretch of I-79 northbound between Houston and Canonsburg, where concrete slabs in the right lane have become uneven. Single-lane closures will occur from 9 a.m. until dark Monday and Tuesday.
