Republican Senators John McCain and Tom Coburn claimed in a report that the Port Authority's North Shore Connector was a huge waste of money along with other programs like a Wake Forest University study of the affects of cocaine on monkeys. I can't say I disagree. Nobody needs a subway tunnel to the North Side. We've got bridges for that. I would've much rather seen the money go to something we actually needed like a high speed train to the airport or even just better public transportation, roads and bridges.

McCain is such a joke. He had no problem funding the lightrail system in Phoenix which no one uses because it goes no where close to work locations.
The only people who use it are the homeless who loiter in the air conditioned stations.
