It’s nearly a month into the Atlantic 10 season, and the only thing that’s clear is that several of the usual suspects have yet to crack the top four of the league.
That, said senior B.J. Monteiro, gives Duquesne some solace, sitting just shy of the bottom third of the pack at 3-3, 12-8 overall.
“We’re still in the race," he said. "A lot of teams are still close in the league. We can’t get too down."
The Dukes have had a long week of practice between games this week - a loss at Saint Louis and home game vs. La Salle on Saturday. Time spent, said players, working on trying to be more consistent, but also staying mentally positive.
“It was tough to lose, especially that way against Saint Louis. But this week we’re trying to stay positive," said Monteiro. "The coaching staff is trying to stay positive. Just have to get ready to play on Saturday."
