Am told it is the largest margin of victory Duquesne has ever had at University of Dayton Arena.
And this joint was loud.
The Dukes won with some lights out 3-point shooting, and penetrated the basket better than they have all season.
Mike Talley was really fantastic in the first half driving the hoop, B.J. Monteiro was 4-for-7 from 3-point range and this was the most confident I’ve seen this team play this year in a tough environment.
Duquesne was just 2-5 on the road entering the game.

Quotes
Mike Talley on how this team stayed so composed on the road tonight.
“Just believing in our teammates. I’m pretty sure we’re the smallest team in the A-10. We might be,” said Talley. “We’ve just got to believe in each other even though we’re smaller. We can outrun teams.”
On shooting 10-of-16 from 3-point range in the first half and 12-for-23 overall.
“Finally knocked it down. We have a lot of shooters on our team and some of us were going through slumps,” said Talley.
Coach Ron Everhart:
On shooting the 3-pointer so well:
“We’ve been working on it a lot. We haven’t been shooting the three ball as well. The way we’re built, mostly guards, we’ve got to shoot well to be good.”
On adjusting after a slow start in the second half:
“I thought early in the second half we came out a little sluggish on offense…we got no dribble penetration. We had to call a timeout and adjusted.”
T.J. McConnell on staying confident as a team:
“Coach told us to keep our composure cause they were going to make a run and they did,” said McConnell.
