Playoff Stuff

Penguins

-Dave Molinari's recap from last night. Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin (above, with Ruslan Fedotenko) are kind of good.

-The Raleigh News & Observer's recap. - "This isn't going to be a four-game series." -Hurricanes defenseman Tim Gleason.

-The Associated Press' recap. The Hurricanes haven't lost a series since dropping the 2002 Stanley Cup final.

-NHL.com's recap. Bill Guerin said this is the best offensive team he has ever played with.

-Brooks Orpik didn't have a problem with the hit Detroit defenseman Niklas Kronwall stuck on Chicago forward Martin Havlat Friday night.

Hurricanes

-Head coach Paul Maurice would like his players to play some defense.

Red Wings

-Remember when defenseman Chris Chelios said he would never play for Detroit?

-Kronwall's hit added even more intensity to an already heated series.

-Forward Kris Draper is dealing with a pulled groin.

-Forward Pavel Datsyuk is still dealing with a foot injury.

Blackhawks

-Chicago is still mad about Kronwall's hit on Havlat.

-"I'm sure there won't be one check that isn't finished on him." - Defenseman Brian Campbell on how the Blackhawks will treat Kronwall.

-Havlat ("upper body") and goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin ("lower body") are each questionable for today's Game 4.

-They're not used to seeing hockey past Memorial Day in Chicago.

Norris Division

-There could be upwards of 10 days off between the end of the conference finals and the Stanley Cup final.

Non-Playoff Stuff

Penguins

-Windsor Spitfires coach and former Penguins defenseman Bob Boughner (right) was named the CHL's coach of the year.

Northwest Division

-New Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher, formerly the Penguins' assistant general manager, has been given permission to interview Sharks assistant coach Todd Richards for his team's vacant head coaching position. Richards used to be the head coach for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Smythe Division

-How likely is it that the salary cap will fall this offseason?
