Tangs and Letestu will both make it with Asham probably hurt. If he is fine then Tangs goes down.

He will be an NHL regular soon. It's the right move, it doesn't sound like it's possible to keep Letestu off the roster right now. I agree with espo33, if Asham misses time then Tangradi will get a taste of the NHL until AA can return. I still think that Tangradi needs to show he can dominate at the AHL level before making the leap to full-time NHLer.

Billy G. didn't make the Flyers. Could this be the end of the road for #13?

I hope it's not the end for Billy. I was checking out his stats a couple of weeks ago and I think he's only 31 goals from 500 for his career; he'd be only the fifth or sixth US-born player to hit that mark. I'd really, really like to see someone pickup him up -- even if it's someone hurting like the Islanders or Oilers or some such -- and let him punch a few in and mentor their younger guys. He meant a lot to us in his short time here and as such I'd really love to see him hit those career marks. For a guy that's played so many places it can be hard otherwise to leave a legacy and I hope he can find his place in the record book, at least.

Yeah, I'd like to see him hit 500 too. I'm surprised that he hasn't been able to find a home with the season about to start. He certainly showed his age last year, but the guy did score 21 goals. Really, really glad he didn't end up a Flyer though.

On one hand, it would be great for Guerin to reach 500 goals, but do you guys remember Joe Mullen in '97? It was painful to watch him trying to get his 500th and he certainly was no help to the team. How many goals can reasonably be expected from Guerin without playing with top line players? He wouldn't get much PP time with the Flyers and only scored 10 even strength goals playing on a line with Sid.

On the other hand, he has to be better than Ruslan Fedotenko who will be stealing a years worth of paychecks from the Rangers.

Every site that I look at has Guerin at 429 goals. He could play every day until he's 100 and he won't score 71 more goals.

Bah. The total I checked out must have lobbed in his playoff goals along with his regular season. Yeah, you're right.

Then I change my vote to him hanging up the axe and we hire him into player development. I'd wager he's got one hell of a post-playing career in that field.

Feeling a little philosophical tonight.

This season is the 40th anniversary season of the tragic death of Michel Brière.

His fatal auto accident happened on the 15th May 1970 and his life ended well short of its tremendous potential on the 13th April 1971.

I'm pretty certain we need a 13 April 2011 #21 patch for the 40th Anniversary of How Much We Miss The Only Penguin not whose number has been retired not named Mario. A banner re-raised by the organization to re-retire the number 21 on the occasion of sec of M. Brière's 40th year of service to Pittsburgh and our humble acceptance of what could have been instead of what was.

That 13 April 2011 would be the first night an NHL playoff game could happen.

The organization needs to make this happen.
