A preview of the Senators.

When and where: 7 p.m., Consol Energy Center.

TV: FSN Pittsburgh, Sportnet Ontario.

Record: 1-3-1, 3 points. The Senators are in 13th place in the Eastern Conference and fourth place in the Northeast Division.

Leading Scorer: Jason Spezza, 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists).

Last Game: 4-3 road loss to the Canadiens, Saturday. Milan Michalek, brother of the Penguins' Zbynek, scored two goals for Ottawa.

Last Game against the Penguins: 4-3 overtime home loss in Game 6 of an Eastern Conference quarterfinal series. Pascal Dupuis' overtime goal claimed the series win.

Senators Player We Would Bet Money On Scoring: Sergei Gonchar (above). Prior to joining the Penguins in the 2005 offseason, he had a six-game scoring streak (from 2004 going back to 2002) against the Penguins. During that span, he had 8 points (2 goals, 6 assists).

Injuries: For the Penguins, defenseman Brooks Orpik (groin) is day to day. Defenseman Zbynek Michalek (shoulder) is out. Centers Casey Pierro-Zabotel (finger), Jordan Staal (foot), right winger Arron Asham ("upper body") and defenseman Alex Grant (wrist) are on injured reserve. Yessssssssss. I love the boozy Alfredsson pic. Second only to "no hands" Dupuis.

Oh...and how is it that Peter Regin doesn't get the "Senators player we'd put money on scoring" vote? Didn't he score about 17 goals on us in the first round last year?

Also...may I please have a ruling on the following...is is ok "whoop whoop" Gonch instead of booing? Is it a "taunting" foul to steal another city's taunt? We need a Bill or Rights for this kind of stuff, you know...

Just a minor point. I happened to look at the Wheeling Nailers box score from Saturday and Casey P-Z is apparently playing for them. Can he be on injured reserve for the Pens and playing for the Nailers?
