-News Flash: Former Penguins defenseman Colin Campbell (right) might actually be incompetent at his current job as the NHL's discipline czar. A series of e-mails from Campbell to various NHL executives have been submitted as evidence in a complaint brought to the Ontario Labour Relations Board by former NHL official Dean Warren who disputed his termination from the league. On of the e-mails reveal a grudge by Campbell towards Bruins forward Marc Savard who was coached by Campbell when the two were with the Rangers. That's the same Marc Savard who was injured on a hit to the head by Penguins forward Matt Cooke last season. The same Matt Cooke who wasn't disciplined for said hit.

-Campbell and company did a pretty lame job at damage control.

-With Chris Conner recalled to the NHL and Nick Johnson and Brett Sterling dealing with injuries, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are missing three of their top-six forwards.

-As a result, the AHL Penguins recalled forward Joe Haddad from Wheeling.

-Former Penguins forward Bill Guerin will be an analyst on Versus' new "Overtime" show, a regular NHL highlights program.

-Former Penguins forward Petr Sykora (right) has joined Dinamo Minsk of the KHL in Russia.

-Happy 55th birthday to former Penguins all-star forward Pierre Larouche. A first-round pick in 1974, "Lucky Pierre" spent parts of four seasons with the Penguins. As a rookie in 1974-75, Larouche appeared in 79 games and scored 68 points, tops among NHL rookies. In that spring's postseason, he saw action in seven games and scored seven points. He followed that up in 1975-76 by becoming the first player in franchise history to hit the century mark in scoring with 111 points. Selected to the All-Star Game that season, he also became the second player in franchise history to hit the 50-goal plateau with 53. (Note: Jean Pronovost had reached the 50-goal mark earlier that season). His goals and points were a team record at the time. The 1976 postseason game saw him appear in three games and record one assist. In 1976-77, Larouche (right) was limited to 65 games and 63 points. In the postseason, he played in three games and recorded three assists. After 20 games and 11 points in 1977-78, Larouche was traded to the Canadiens along with future considerations in exchange for Pete Mahovlich and Peter Lee. In 240 regular season games for the Penguins, Larouche scored 253 points, 29th-most in franchise history. In 15 postseason games, he netted 11 points. Larouche currently works as a corporate sales liaison for the Penguins.

Atlantic Division

-Two goals and an assist by Mike Richards led the Flyers to a 5-1 rout of the Senators. Claude Giroux added a goal and two assists for Philadelphia while Sergei Bobrovsky made 28 saves in the victory.

-On the heels of a 10-game losing streak, the Islanders fired head coach Scott Gordon and replaced him on an interim basis with Jack Capuano, the head coach of their AHL affiliate with Bridgeport. Gordon will remain with the organization as an advisor. Capuano is the brother of former Penguins forward Dave Capuano.

-Thinking Out Loud: The Islanders' problems are a lot bigger than Scott Gordon.

-Rangers forward Brandon Dubinsky was fined an undisclosed amount for his part in a brawl in a game Sunday against the Oilers.

Northeast Division

-Tim Thomas made 28 saves for the Bruins in a 3-0 shutout of the Devils. It was Thomas' fourth shutout in 11 games this season. Former Penguin Mark Recchi recorded two assists for Boston. He now has 1,496 career points. Fire Ray Shero.

Paul Stastny added a goal and an assist for Colorado while teammates Milan Hejduk and Chris Stewart each recorded two assists. Peter Budaj made 27 saves in the victory. Carlo Colaiacovo and Alexander Steen each had a goal and an assist for St. Louis.

-Leave it to the Wild to not only collect two "Z" players on defense - Greg Zanon and Marek Zidlicky - but to also pair them together. Somewhere, Zarley Zalapski is not impressed.

Pacific Division

-A goal and two assists by Patrick Marleau helped the Sharks beat the rival Kings, 6-3. Teammates Dany Heatley and Joe Pavelski each had a goal and an assist while Antero Niittymaki made 32 saves in the victory.

-Former Kings defenseman Chris Schmidt has joined Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg of the DEL in Germany. What a team name.

The team and players should give money back to the fans who pay for these tickets because they keep losing at home.

When did the Pens get Mark Eaton back?

Dubinsky maneuvered patiently around the remaining Pittsburgh defenseman, Mark Eaton and fed to Callahan, who directed the puck past goalie Marc-Andre Fleury.

I think people should be fired over the game last night. It was a totally stupid coaching move to have those 5 players on the ice with a minute left, a power play, and a 1 goal lead. Malkin's play to throw the puck to the center of the ice rather than get it deep directly led to the tying goal. My 10 year old players would be benched for doing something so stupid. 25, 24, 17, 4, and 7 should have been on the ice and the puck would have been cycled deep in the NY zone rather than in our net.
