Former Penguins forward Bill Guerin will officially announce his retirement today at a press conference at Consol Energy Center.

Guerin, 40, spent 18 season in the NHL with the Penguins, Devils, Oilers, Bruins, Stars, Blues, Sharks and Islanders.

Guerin, a member of the Penguins 2009 Stanley Cup championship team, spent parts of two seasons in Pittsburgh. In 95 regular games with the Penguins, Guerin scored 57  points.

An on-ice ceremony will be held prior to tonight's game with the Devils.

classy. shows how much the pens and the city meant to him to do this. he's played in so many other cities but he chose to do it here.

Not really. The ones the PG uses are alot easier than some others I've seen on youtube and yahoo.

Bummed I sold my tickets to tonights game. But it is the perfect opponent to honoro him against. I still am surprised that someone didn't give him a shot this year, unless some teams did and he didn't want to play for them. After last year I thought he could still chip in with someone.

Hopefully the Pens or USA hockey snatch him up in some sort of role. He is a great USA hockey ambassador.

What are the chances FSN shows any of the ceremony? I'd predict 0% since there coverage anymore stinks. I can't go one game with out a loss of coverage or frozen screen.

Yes, the security images are sometimes difficult but not the worst I've come across.

Does anyone know who the Islanders drafted with the pick they got for Guerin? Not that it's helped them much...

Brando, the Islanders traded the pick to Phoenix for their 2010 3rd round pick. The Coyotes selected goalie Michael Lee and the Islanders selected forward Jason Clark.
Hope that helped...don't know how it could.
As far as the security image goes, I still can't tell the difference between i and l.
