Penguins

-Everyone else in the world has posted this already, but we've had this sitting in our bookmarks for a few days:

-Evgeni Malkin has a Flip camera.

-Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang are popular. They among the leaders in all-star voting (PG+).

-If you can imagine such a thing, a Steelers kicker showed up to a Penguins event and didn't act like an obnoxious prima donna. Bowling Green product Shaun Suisham hung out with fellow alumni Dan Bylsma after practice yesterday:

-AHL all-star voting has begun.

Atlantic Division

-The Devils demoted goaltender Mike McKenna to Albany of the AHL.

Northeast Division

-A goal and an assist by captain Brian Gionta led the Canadiens to a 4-1 defeat of the rival Senators. Carey Price made 27 saves in the victory.

-An overtime goal by former Penguin Mark Recchi gave the Bruins a 3-2 win against the Sabres. Fire Ray Shero. Nathan Horton added a goal and an assist for Boston while teammate David Krejci recorded two assists. Tim Thomas made 28 saves in the victory.

-Recchi's goal required a video review:

-Fire Ray Shero.

-A turnover by Sabres defenseman and Pittsburgh native Mike Weber led to Recchi's goal.

-The Sabres recalled forward Mark Mancari from Portland of the AHL.

-The Maple Leafs recalled goaltender James Reimer from Toronto of the AHL.

-TSN analyst Darren Pang had an unfortunate flub on air when discussing Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban:

Southeast Division

-Two goals by Stephen Weiss, including one in overtime, gave the Panthers a 4-3 win against the Avalanche. Teammate David Booth added a goal and an assist while Tomas Vokoun made 22 saves in the victory. John-Michael Liles had a goal and an assist for Colorado.

Central Division

-It looks like the Stanley Cup hangover is starting to really hit the Blackhawks as they're playing without forwards Marian Hossa and Patrick Kane.

-Kane's ankle injury is expected to have him sidlined for upwards of three weeks.

Northwest Division

-A goal and two assists by Rene Bourque helped the Flames beat the Lightning, 4-2. Miikka Kiprusoff made 22 saves in the victory.

-Tampa Bay's Dan Ellis kept his eyes on this puck:

-Flames forward Alex Tanguay ripped the Lightning for how he was treated during his time in Tampa Bay.

-The Canucks demoted forward Joel Perrault to Manitoba of the AHL and recalled forward Jonas Andersson from Manitoba.

Pacific Division

-Shootout goals by Joffrey Lupul and Cam Fowler gave the Ducks a 3-2 shootout win against the Oilers. Teemu Selanne and Saku Koivu each had a goal and an assist for Anaheim while Jonas Hiller made 34 saves in the victory. Tom Gilbert recorded two assists for Edmonton.

-Edmonton's Nikolai Khabibulin kept his eye, at least one of them, on this puck:

-Thirsty times for Khabibulin:

-Lupul (back) played in his first game in 362 days.

-The Coyotes recalled defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson from San Antonio of the AHL.

-The Stars demoted forward Francis Wathier to Texas of the AHL.

Adams Division

-Happy 74th birthday to former Pittsburgh Hornets forward Kenny Girard.

-Today would've been the 105th birthday of former Pittsburgh Hornets center Marty Barry. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1965.
