Cam Ward competed in the fastest skating competition? Is that how stupid this event has become?

Cam Ward and Tim Thomas competed in the Fastest Skater. The format has changed. The first 2 skaters skate backwards the entire length. The next 2 skaters were rookies. The next 2 were goaltenders and the rest were whoever. It was actually pretty fun to watch. You remember fun?

So Weber's 104.8 is a record for non-Brobdingnagians, right?
I thought the skating thing was neat, though I'd be terrified to see my goalie doing that. Say what you want, but all the kids in my 7-yr old's hockey dressing room this morning were all abuzz about the backwards skaters and the hardest shots.
The relay was ... different. I wonder if they shouldn't just fly some of the best in for the breakaway challenge, though, don't they do that for the dunk competitions in the NBA?
