Record: 32-25-8, 72 points. The Sabres are in eighth place in the Eastern Conference and third place in the Northeast Division.

Leading Scorer: Thomas Vanek, 55 points (23 goals, 32 assists).

Last Game: 3-2 overtime road win against the Wild, Sunday. Jhonas Enroth made 24 saves for the Sabres.

Last Game against the Penguins: 3-2 road loss, Feb. 4. Marc-Andre Fleury made 27 saves for the Penguins.

Probable goaltenders: Marc-Andre Fleury (29-16-5, 2.36 GAA, .918 SV%) for the Penguins and Ryan Miller (28-18-7, 2.66 GAA, .914 SV%) for the Sabres.

I'm not pulling my hair out about Neal, like alot of people have begun to. The guy was good in Dallas and wants to be here.

It's going to be a while before I consider him the next Ponikarovsky.

He's getting chances, he's making chances and the team is doing well right now.

Yep.

Neal has been a significant presence on the ice, even if he hasn't scored a goal yet. Ponikarovsky was invisible the bulk of the time he was here.

Neal has been a hair away from scoring in every game he's played. If he wasn't making plays and getting constant chances, I would be far more worried. He makes his presence felt every shift.

He's carrying a scoring drought from Dallas, makes you grip the stick a little tighter.
