-A goal and two assists by Keven Veilleux led the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 6-3 defeat of the Connecticut Whale. Nick Petersen and Corey Potter each netted a goal and an assist for the Penguins while teammate Robert Bortuzzo recorded two assists. Brad Thiessen made 22 saves in the victory

The Flyers are in first place of the Eastern Conference and Atlantic Division with 102 points, four more than the Penguins who are in fourth and second places respectively.

The Rangers demoted forward Mats Zuccarello to Connecticut of the AHL.-In response to the Islanders revoking the credential of blogger journalist Chris Botta, the two New York chapters (Islanders and Rangers) of the Pro Hockey Writers Association have decided to not vote for the NHL's awards in protest. The PWHA votes on the Hart (MVP), Norris (top defenseman), Calder (top rookie), Lady Byng (most gentlemanly) and Selke (top defensive forward) trophies. It also votes on the NHL's all-Star and all-rookie teams.
Northeast Division-Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty (right) skated for the first time since suffering a broken neck March 8.

-Injured Capitals defenseman Mike Green said he is finally symptom free from a concussion he suffered Feb. 25.

-Captain Jarome Iginla had two goals and an assist for the Flames in a 3-2 win at St. Louis. Alex Tanguay added a goal and two assist sfor Calgary while Miikka Kiprusoff made 25 saves in the victory. David Backes netted a goal and an assist for the Blues.

-Ryan O'Reilly's shootout goal gave the Avalanche a 4-3 win at Phoenix. O'Reilly and Jay McClement each had a goal and an assist in regulation for Colorado while Peter Budaj made 35 saves in the victory. Captain Shane Doan and Ray Whitney each netted a goal and an assist for the Coyotes.
