The Penguins confirmed they will start Brent Johnson (right) in goal tonight. This season, Johnson has an 11-5-3 record with a 2.19 goals against average, .920 save percentage and one shutout.
In his career versus the Panthers, Johnson has a 9-3-2 record with a 2.30 goals against average, .924 save percentage and one shutout.
Johnson and the Penguins will have the benefit of not having to face forward Stephen Weiss, the Panthers' leading scorer with 49 points (21 goals, 28 assists) in 75 games. Weiss will not play on account of groin injury.
He will be replaced in the lineup with forward Jack Skille who has missed the previous four games due to a high ankle sprain. In 58 game this season, he has 18 points (seven goals, 11 assists)
