-A goal and two assists by Zach Sill led the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 4-3 overtime win against the Rochester Americans. Andrew Hutchinson and Corey Potter each added a goal and an assist for the Penguins while John Curry made 24 saves in the victory.

-Wilkes-Barre/Scranton clinched the Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy, the AHL's equivalent of the NHL's Presidents' Trophy, for the first time in franchise history.
-Mikael Bedard had two goals and an assist for the Wheeling Nailers in a 4-3 defeat of the Toledo Walleye. Tyler Murovich added a goal and an assist for the Nailers while teammate Tim Crowder recorded two assists. Peter Delmas made 33 saves in the victory.
-Happy 78th birthday to former Penguins forward Billy Dea (right). Claimed from the Blackhawks in the 1967 expansion draft, Dea was a member of the Penguins for the first two years of their existence. During the club's inagural season of 1967-68, he appeared in 73 games and netted 28 points. He followed that in 1968-69 by seeing action in 66 games and scoring 18 points.Prior to the 1969-70 season, Dea was traded to the Red Wings for Mike McMahon. In 139 games with the franchise, he had 46 points.
-Happy 29th birthday to current Penguins defenseman Deryk Engelland. A free agent signing in the 2007 offseason, Engelland has spent parts of the past two seasons with the Penguins. He appeared in nine games in 2009-10 and recorded two assists while compiling 17 penalty minutes. This season, Engelland has played in 61 games, scored 10 points and 123 penalty minutes. In 70 games with the Penguins, Engelland has 12 points and 140 penalty minutes.
-Happy 49th birthday to former Penguins defenseman Neil Belland. A free agent signing in the 1986 offseason, Belland appeared in three games and recorded one assist for the 1986-87 Penguins. He joined Lukko Rauma in FInland the following season.
Atlantic Division-After being officially eliminated from playoff contention for the first time since 1995-96, Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur called 2010-11 "a failure of a season."
-The Devils activated forward Zach Parise (right) from injured reserve. He had missed 65 games this season due to a knee injury.
-The New Jersey chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers Association has joined the two New York chapters (Islanders and Rangers) in boycotting the vote for NHL awards as a protest against the Islanders revoking the credentials of online journalist and PWHA member Chris Botta. The PHWA votes on the Norris, Calder, Lady Byng and Selke trophies as well as the all-star and all-rookie teams.
-Thinking Out Loud: We've always felt journalists should never be involved in the voting for awards, hall of fames or any sort of polls such as the Associated Press poll in college football. Journalists should never be a part of the story they are trying to tell. By being part of the process involving these various honors, they become part of the story.

-The Islanders put out a statement regarding the manner claiming their players such as Michael Grabner (right) and Frans Nielsen are being punished. They are considered candidates for the Calder and Selke trophies respectively.
-Scoreboard Watch for the Penguins: Tuukka Rask made 28 saves for the Bruins in a 3-2 win at Atlanta. Boston, which has won five out of seven games, clinched the Northeast Division. The Bruins are in third place of the Eastern Conference with 99 points, one fewer than the fourth-place Penguins.

-Two goals by Mathieu Darch led the Canadiens to a 3-1 win at New Jersey. Brian Gionta recorded two assists for Montreal while Carey Price made 20 saves in the victory.

-James Reimer made 23 saves for the Maple Leafs in a 4-2 win against the rival Senators. Clarke MacArthur recorded two assists for Toronto which kept its playoff hopes alive. Jason Spezza scored both of Ottawa's goals.

-Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller has missed two consecutive games due to an "upper-body" injury.
-In addition to a broken hand and the flu, Sabres defenseman and former Penguin Jordan Leopold now has pneumonia.
-Senators forward Marek Svatos left the game due to a concussion.
-The Senators recalled defenseman Andre Benoit from Binghamton of the AHL.
-Scoreboard Watch for the Penguins: An overtme goal and an assist by captain Alex Ovechkin gave the Capitals a 4-3 win against the Sabres. Mike Knuble added two goals for Washington while teammate Nicklas Backstrom recorded three assists. Drew Stafford scored two goals for Buffalo. The Capitals moved into first place in the Eastern Conference with 103 points, three more than the fourth-place Penguins.

-Washington's Jason Arnott tied the game with 51.3 seconds left in regulation with his 400th career goal:
-Scoreboard Watch for the Penguins: Dwayne Roloson made 29 saves for the Lightning in a 3-1 win at Minnesota. Tampa Bay has won four consecutive games. The Lightning is in fifth place with 97 points, three fewer than the fourth-place Penguins.

-The Thrashers were officially eliminated from playoff contention.
