-As you saw in the video, Penguins forward Dustin Jeffrey will miss the rest of the season due to an ACL injury in his right knee. He will require six months of rehabilitation.
-The Penguins will provide free baseline concussion testing for youth hockey players in the Pittsburgh area:
-Mike Rupp, Kris Letang, Brooks Orpik and Pirates third baseman Pedro Alvarez and pitcher Paul Maholm will hold a fundraiser Monday at Consol Energy Center on behalf of the Cleland's a local family which recently lost their seven-year-old daughter to a drunk driver.
-An overtime goal by Andrew Orpik gave the Wheeling Nailers a 4-3 win against the South Carolina Stingrays. Joey Haddad had two goals for the Nailers while Peter Delmas made 30 saves in the victory.
-Happy 36th birthday to former Penguins defenseman Hal Gill. Acquired at the 2008 trade deadeline in exchange for drafts picks. Gill spent parts of two seasons with the Penguins, both of which, ended in the Stanley Cup Final. He finished 2007-08 by appearing in 18 games for the Penguins and scoring four points. In the 2009 postseason, Gill saw action in 20 games and recorded one assist. He followed that up in 2008-09 by playing in 62 games and scoring 10 points. He appeared in all 24 postseason games that spring, recorded two points and helped the franchise claim its third Stanley Cup championship. During the 2009 offseason, he joined the Canadiens as a free agent. In 80 regular season games with the Penguins, Gill scored 14 points. In 44 posteason games, he recorded three assists. He is still a member of the Canadiens.
-Happy 34th birthday to former Penguins forward Ville Nieminen. Acquired along with Rick Berry at the 2002 trade deadeline in a deal which sent Darius Kasparaitis to Colorado, Nieminen spent parts of two season with the Penguins. He finished 2001-02 by playing in 13 games for the Penguins and scoring three points. In 2002-03, Nieminem saw action in 75 games and scored 21 points. During the 2003 offseason, he joined the Blackhawks as a free agent. In 88 games with the Penguins, he scored 24 points. He is currently a member of Sibir Novosibirsk in the KHL.
-Happy 38th birthday to former Penguins forward Tyler Wright. Acquired in the 1996 offseason in a a deal which sent a draft pick to the Oilers, Wright spent four seasons with the Penguins. In 1996-97, he saw action in 45 games and scored four points. During 1997-98, Wright played in all 82 games and scored seven points. He would play in six postseason games that spring and recorded one assist. He followed that up in 1998-99 by seeing action in 61 games and somehow failed to record a point. He continued that scoring pace in that seasons' playoffs by playing in in 13 games and failed to record a single point. In 1999-2000, played in 50 games and netted 22 points. He played in 11 postseason games that spring and contributed four points. During the 2000 offseason, he was claimed by Blue Jackets in the expansion draft. In 238 regular season games with the Penguins, he scored 33 points. In 30 postseason games, he scored five points. He currently is a development coach with the Blue Jackets.
-This is a bad loss for the Rangers. New York forward Ryan Callahan will be sidelined indefinitely due to a broken ankle.
-The Rangers demoted forward Kris Newbury to Connecticut of the AHL.
-The Flyers placed goaltender Michael Leighton and half of his $1.55 million salary cap hit on re-entry waivers.
-Islanders forward Frans Nielsen (concussion) and defenseman Milan Jurcina (hip) will miss the remainder of the season.
-Scoreboard Watch for the Penguins: Jason Spezza had a goal and three assists for the Senators in a 5-2 defeat of the Flyers. Bobby Butler and Ryan Shannon each added a goal and an assist for Ottawa while teammate teammate Filip Kuba recorded two assists. Craig Anderson made 27 saves in the victory. Captain Mike Richards scored both of the Flyers' goals. The Flyers are in second place of the Eastern Conference and first place ot the Atlantic Division with 103 points, one more than the Penguins who are in fourth and second place respectively.
-Another night. Another head shot. Philadelphia's Ben Holmstrom threw a pretty dirty elbow at the head of Ottawa's Zack Smith, then had a fight with Ottawa's Chris Neil:

-Scoreboard Watch for the Penguins: A hat trick by Thomas Vanek led the Sabres to a 4-2 defeat of the Lightning. Tim Connolly added a goal and two assists for Buffalo while teammate Jason Pominville recorded two assists. Jhonas Enroth made 23 saves in the victory. The Lightning is in fifth place with 99 points, three fewer than the fourth-place Penguins.

-P.K. Subban's overtime goal gave the Canadiens a 2-1 win against the Blackhawks. Mike Cammalleri added a goal and an assist for Montreal while teammate Andrei Kostitsyn recorded two assists. Carey Price made 42 saves in the victory which clinched a playoff berth.

-Scoreboard Watch for the Penguins: Mike Knuble's shootout goal gave the Capitals a 3-2 win against the Maple Leafs. Michael Neuvirth made 19 saves in the victory. The Capitals clinched the Southeast Division and lead the Eastern Conference with 105 points, three more than the fourth-place Penguins.

-Washington captain Ovechkin recorded his 300th career goal.
-Lightning forward Steven Stamkos has only four goals in his past 26 games.
-Tampa Bay general manager Steve Yzerman, who essentially had his playing career ended due to an eye injury, will ask all his players to consider wearing eye visors.
-The Thrashers signed defenseman signed defenseman Zach Redmond, a seventh-round pick in 2008, to an entry-level contract. Terms were not released.
-Sergei Kostitsyn and Jordin Tootoo each netted a two goals and an assist for the Predators in a 6-3 defeat of the Thrashers. Matt Halishcuk added a goal and an assist for Nashville while teammate Patric Hornqvist recorded three assists. Pekka Rinne made 33 saves in the victory. Blake Wheeler scored two goals for Atlanta.

-Devan Dubnyk made 26 saves for the Oilers in a 2-0 shutout of the Canucks. Jeff Petry recorded two assists for Edmonton. Vancouver had a nine-game road winning streak snapped.

-Kari Lehtonen made 23 saves for the Stars in a 3-0 shutout of the Blue Jackets. It was Lehtonen's 17th career shutout. Columbus has lost four consecutive games.

It makes me sick how the NHL handles this problem. This league is an absolute joke regarding this topic!
I hope and pray it will never happen, but maybe one day a player gets paralized or even worse dies and then there will be even still some people who think hitting players to the head is part of the game.
Obviously Colin Campbell is one of them...
