The Penguins won't get shutout in the awards show.

Dan Bylsma was named a finalist for the Jack Adams Award which goes to the league's best coach. Nashville's Barry Trots and Vancouver's Alain Vigneault were also named finalist.

Despite injuries to stars Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Jordan Staal, Bylsma was able to direct the Penguins to a 49-25-8 record this season and threatened the Flyers for the Atlantic Division. The Penguins finished in fourth place of the Eastern Conference.

In 189 career games with the Penguins, Bylsma has a career record of 114-56-19.

No Penguins coach has ever won the award.

That's pretty scary. I'm praying for Sid. It looks like he still has a long way to go in his recovery.

HCDB gets my vote based on what he accomplished after Sid and Geno were hurt, especially considering the vote is taken before the playoffs. Ending up tied in points for top spot in the division is remarkable. Some even predicted that they would have trouble making the playoffs at all. That being said, he has to be held responsible for that power play.

The others in this category have done nice jobs, but I can't see HCDB not taking home this trophy. This is the NHL, though. Congrats to Coach!

*t was a beautiful thing watching the team under him this year when they truly did "get to their game". That run in late November and early December was memorable, and the way he held the team together in February and March was just as memorable as they scratched and clawed for every point.

No other team was handed this many setbacks and was still so successful. Look at the Avs, they were absolutely destroyed by injury and just fell off the cliff.

He 100% deserves it.
