Penguins

-The Penguins relinquished the rights to forawrd Andy Bathgate (right), a fifth-round pick in 2009, and defenseman Viktor Ekbom, an a sixth-rounder in 2009. Both players will be eligible for this month's draft.

Playoff stuff

Canucks - Bruins

-Vancouver natives Snezana and Dobro Lucic grew up Canucks fans. Not so much these days now that their son, Milan, is a a forward with the Bruins.

-“It's been a long time since I played with a fishbowl so that takes some getting used to out there. It tends to fog up really quickly. Getting used to having that sweat on it, or having it fog up halfway through a shift, and that type of thing, is just something you have to deal with.” - Canucks forward Manny Malhotra on wearing a full face shield to protect is injured left eye.

Northeast Division

-The Senators signed forwards Louie Caporusso, a third-round pick in 2007, to a two-year entry-level contract and Jakob Silfverberg, a second-round pick in 2009 to a three-year entry-level contract.

Southeast Division

-Another day. Another step closer for the Thrashers to move to Winnipeg.

-Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman said his team will increase payroll next season.

Central Division

-The Red Wings signed forward Andrej Nestrasil, a third-round pick in 2009, to a three-year entry-level contract.

Adams Division
