Another day, another center is re-signed.

The Penguins have re-signed forward Ryan Craig to a one-year two-way contract. Craig, 29, appeared in six NHL games and did not record a point.

The captain of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Craig (6-foot-2, 220 pounds) appeared in 71 AHL games and scored 48 points (19 goals, 29 assists), second-most on the team.

EN Says: Craig is an excellent player for the sake of organizational depth. He is a classic "tweener." A guy who is going to bounce between the NHL and AHL levels. He's more than competent at the NHL level and will be a top six forward at the AHL level.

I believe that EN hit the nail on its head in his evaluation of Ryan. If Max is unsignable, Ryan might spend more time with the Pens this season as an affordable but capable replacement.

I thought Craig scored a goal in the last game. Maybe an empty netter... does my memory fail me?
