Atlantic Division-The Devils have not yet extended a contract offer to unrestricted free agent defenseman Andy Greene (right).
-The Rangers will play Henrik Lundqvist's former team, Frolunda of the Elitserien in Sweden, during the preseason. Lundqvist's twin brother, Joel, currently plays for Frolunda.
-Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas had his playoff beard trimmed on behalf of charity.
-The Bruins spent an AHL salary on a bottle of champagne
-The Canadiens re-signed restricted free agent forwards Max Pacioretty ($3.25 million) and David Desharnais ($1.7 million) to two-year contracts. Pacioretty will have a salary cap hit of $1.625 million while Desharnais will have a cap hit of $850,000.
-Pacioretty says Bruins fans are accusing him through Twitter of embellishing his injuries suffered after this hit by Zdeno Chara late in the regular season:
-We wonder if Bruins fans feel the same way about Nathan Horton:
-The Maple Leafs fired assistant coaches Tim Hunter and Keith Acton and replaced them with Greg Cronin and former Islanders coach Scott Gordon.
-"We haven’t moved a franchise in 14 years. I think every other league has relocated a team in that span. Sometimes, as much as you hate to do it, it’s a reality. I don’t think it is a black eye on the league. I don’t think it’s a black eye on Atlanta." - NHL commissioner Gary Bettman on relocating the Thrashers franchise from Atlanta to Winnipeg.
-The NHL's board of governors is expected to officially approve the move of the franchise today.
-The Thrashers franchise will not retain Craig Ramsay as head coach.
-At least one restricted free agent nicknamed "TK" got a new contract. The Panthers re-signed restricted free agent forward Tim Kennedy (right) to a one-year two-way contract.
-As if the Penguins didn't have a big enough advantage anytime the went to Carolina. With PNC Financial purchasing RBC Bank, venerable RBC Center in Raleigh might soon be named PNC Arena.
-Red Wings captain Nicklas Lidstrom (right) put off retirement for another year and signed a one-year contract worth $6.2 million. Lidstrom, 40, will be entering his 20th NHL season.
-The Blue Jackets hired former Wild and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins head coach Todd Richards as an assistant coach. He replaces former Penguins defenseman Bob Boughner.
-"My family — my mom, dad and brother — will be there. I can't say I'll be spending a whole lot of time with them. I'm not sure Vegas is the place you want to take a family vacation." - Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews on traveling to Las Vegas for the NHL's award show.
-"It seemed like the best thing to do." - Scott Jones, the man in the famous "riot kissers" photo on the decsion to kiss his girlfriend, Alex Thomas, during the middle of the riots in Vancouver last week:

-Several Vancouver retailers hit by looters in the riot plan on filing civil suits against those identified by surveillance videos.
-The Flames re-signed unrestricted free agent goaltender Henrik Karlsson to a two-year contract worth 1.725 million. He will have a salary cap hit of $862,500.
-The Wild re-signed restricted free agent defenseman Nate Prosser to a one-year two-way contract.
-Kings forward Ryan Smyth denied a report he requested a trade to his original team, the Oilers.
-The Sharks will not extend contract offers to unrestricted free agent forwards Jamal Mayers and Scott Nichol.
-Upper St. Clair native Vincent Trocheck has a few physical obstacles to overcome in this weekend's draft.
