Shero said everything except I blew it! Come on, instead of signing Asham and Dupuis, he let our arch rival take Jagr for $3 million. $3 million for a first or second line right winger, who can definitely help your anemic power play. I think he thought he could steal this deal.

Shero was right in saying that there just wasn't a lot of talent available.
Sullivan, reportedly, signed for much less than he made last year, and his points-per-game record is good. I generally like bigger players who can scrum in the corners, but I don't think any out there were worth what they got and would still fit into our budget strategy.
One good thing about small players: they are too low to take head shots.
And Jagr?
Didn't the Flyers sign Nikolay Zherdev last year? Didn't the Flyers release Nikolay Zherdev this year? What did the wiseman say about those who don't learn from history?
I would have loved to see Jagr on the powerplay and in shootouts, though, but that was until I remembered that he refused to go out for a shootout while playing for the Rangers. Maybe he would have liked the powerplay.
This non-sign shows why Shero builds good teams: he'll kiss noone's butt and he likes his players to be the same way.
By the way, Nikolay Zherdev is still available.

Wise man said "don't be foolish in comparing Zherdev to one of the most prolific scorers of all-time."
