Penguins

-Happy 30th birthday to former Penguins forward Jani Rita. Acquired along with Cory Cross midway through the 2005-06 season in a trade which sent Dick Tarnstrom to the Oilers, Rita's Penguins' career amounted to 30 games and seven points the rest of that campaign. Since the 2006-07 season, he has played for Jokerit Helsinki of the SM-liiga in Finland.

-Happy 47th birthday to current Penguins assistant coach Tony Granato.

Northeast Division

-Bruins forward and former Penguin Mark Recchi will get two days with the Stanley Cup this summer. One in his native Kamloops, B.C. and the other in his current hometown, Pittsburgh. Also included in that article, he wants to get into a management position with an NHL club.

Central Division

-The Blue Jackets will promote former Penguins forward Tyler Wright to director of amateur scouting. He has spent the past three seasons as the team's development coach.

Smythe Division

-Former Canucks/Canadiens/Lightning/Blackhawks/Panthers defenseman Jassen Cullimore has joined the Iserlohn Roosters of the DEL in Germany.
