Penguins-Former Penguins forward Alex Kovalev said he had two offers from NHL teams. He opted to join Atlant Mytishchi of hte KHL last week.

-Tyler Kennedy (right) finished third in a stock car race in his native Sault St. Marie among five other current or former NHL players.
-Happy 52nd birthday to former Penguins defenseman Bennett Wolf. A third-round pick in 1979, Wolf spent parts of three seasons with the Penguins. As a rookie, he appeared in a career-high 24 games and recorded one assist in 1980-81. He appeared in five games in 1981-82 and one game in 1982-83 and never played in the NHL again. The organization released him in the 1985 offseason.
-Rangers forward Sean Avery (right) was arrested after he allegedly shoved a peace officer at him home in Los Angeles.
-The Coyotes signed former Wild forward Patrick O'Sullivan to a one-year deal. Terms were not reported.
-Ducks forward Teemu Selanne told a Finnish newspaper he will wait until September before he makes a decision on potentially retiring.
-Former Maple Leafs/Wild forward Robbie Earl has joined Dinamo Riga of the KHL.
