The Penguins' offseason was a big question mark due to the likes of Jaromir Jagr, Tyler Kennedy and Sidney Crosby. Pascal Dupuis was one of the rare certainties having re-signed with the club a few days prior to the start of the free agent signing period.
Recently, he talked about re-signing with the Penguins, what he offers the team and his friendship with former Penguin Max Talbot:
On re-signing.
"I’m really happy to be back. I made it clear that Pittsburgh is the place where I want to play. That’s where my family is comfortable living. That’s where I’m comfortable hockey-wise and family-wise. Pittsburgh is our home for the winter."

Empty Netters isn’t going anywhere. It’s staying on the free site. A few things might change.
Seth, I wish you the best in your new endeavors, but if EN is just going to be used as a teaser to content on PG+, well, that would make me very unhappy.

Seriously Seth? As I've expressed many times in emails and postings, Empty Netters has become the go-to site for Pens info in the morning. Your post this morning specifically said EN is staying on the free site (as Disgruntled Goat just included)...I guess that means only the title and two paragraphs are staying on the free site?
This is highly disappointing and hopefully only a technology glitch, but I'm not banking on it.

My hopes with EN are:
1.) Content such as the Empty Netter Assists, game blogs, statistical breakdowns will remain available here.
2.) Anything such as a Q&A like this post will be previewed here. But the bulk of it will be on PG+. In my eyes, a Q&A with a member of a team is fairly exclusive. There aren't many outlets that have this type of access.
None of this is set in stone. It definitely can change. But for time being, I'm simply trying to see how successful this can be.

Sorry Seth, but if you're going to be using this blog to tease the PG+ stuff like this, I'll be taking my reading habits elsewhere.
I can even agree with you that something like a one-on-one with someone like Dupuis belongs on a service like PG+, but I don't have the money to buy a subscription, and these teasers are just a waste of my time.
I wish you the best, but count me out.

Seth, more power to you. I certainly don't begrudge anyone doing what they have to do.
Any time I see a site charging for content, however, I do wonder if there isn't a better way.
I think advertising SHOULD (not saying it IS, but..) be like matter...it cannot be created or destroyed.
Aren't a pair of eyes the same to an advertiser whether they watch on TV, in print, online, etc? Obviously not, since online ad revenues don't match their older media counterparts.
If anything it should be more valuable...given the interactivity, ability to monitor behavior, etc.
It would seem that as much or more revenue could be generated by having 500 to 1,000 people watch say, a 30 second ad vs. 10 to 20 people who are willing to pay for content.
Perhaps not. I dunno...
Just a thought.

Seth, I subscribed to the PG+ shortly after it launched. I think it's great that you are going to be providing content. I also think it is a small price to pay to keep the good parts of 'old media' functioning.

Sorry you're getting so much negative feedback. I honestly mainly read sports in the PG, but I think it's a pretty small amount to ask. I've been thinking about subscribing to PG+ for awhile, but have been dragging my feet, so here's a good enough reason for me, anyway!
