-The Kings agreed to an eight-year contract with defenseman Drew Doughty worth a total of $56 million. He will have a salary cap hit of $7 million. In 76 games last season, Doughty scored 40 points (11 goals, 29 assists).
-EN Says: This hold out seems rather silly now that this is all done. Doughty is one of the best defensemen in the league. He will be a Norris Trophy finalists multiple times before this contract expires. This is a nice value for a player of his skill level.
-Los Angeles demoted forwards Justin Azevedo and Jordan Nolan to Manchester of the AHL.
-The Ducks demoted forward Jean-Francois Jacques to Syracuse of the AHL and placed defenseman Bryan Rodney on waivers.
