The Penguins' preseason came to an end with a 3-2 loss to the Red Wings in Detroit tonight.
Forward Gustav Nyquist had two goals and an assist for the Red Wings. Johan Franzen scored the Red Wings' other goal.
Defenseman Paul Martin (right, with Detroit's Tomas Tatar) scored the Penguins' first goal in the first period. The goal was unassisted.
Forward Tyler Kennedy accounted for the Penguins' second goal late in the third period. Assists went to forwards Steve Sullivan and Chris Kunitz.
Detroit's Jimmy Howard made 24 saves in the victory. Marc-Andre Fleury made 15 saves for the Penguins.
The loss was the Penguins' first in the preseason. The finished 5-1-0 in the preseason.
