With Kris Letang scheduled for a disciplinary hearing today, the Penguins recalled defenseman Brian Strait from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL as a precaution.
A third-round pick in 2006, Strait, 23, has appeared in five AHL games this season, has scored four points(one goal, three assists) and is a plus-6.
He saw action in three NHL games last season and was a minus-1.
