-A goal and an assist by Chris Kelly led the Bruins to a 5-3 defeat of the Senators. Captain Zdeno Chara and Rich Peverly added two assists for Boston while Tim Thomas made 23 saves in the victory. Nick Foligno had a goal and two assists for Ottawa.

-Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson is expected to be sidelined at least a week due to a concussion.
-The Sabres spent several millions to improve the ice conditions at First Niagara Center.
-The Maple Leafs recalled forward Joey Crabb from Toronto of the AHL and demoted forward Matt Frattin to Toronto.
-Chad LaRose and Jeff Skinner each had two goals for the Hurricanes in a 4-2 win against the Lightning. Cam Ward made 28 saves for Carolina.

-Two goals from Nicklas Backstrom, including one in overtime, gave the Capitals a thrilling 5-4 comeback win against the Ducks. Joel Ward and Dennis Wideman each added a goal and an assist for Washington while teammate Brooks Laich recorded three assists. Tomas Vokoun made all of 11 saves in the victory. Teemu Selanne collected two goals and an assist for Anaheim.
-Backstrom scored with 42 seconds left in regulation to tie the game and won the game in overtime:

-An overtime goal and an assist by Devin Setoguchi gave the Wild a 2-1 win against the Red Wings. Captain Mikko Koivu added a goal and an assist for Minnesota while Josh Harding made 36 saves in the victory.

There have been no penalties for any dirty hits, no flying elbows, no fights or slashes.
Instead, he has 4 goals, 8 points, and 4 penalty minutes. He is 4th on the Pens in shorthanded TOI (2:27 per game), on the top PK unit in the NHL. And he's tied for 14th among all forwards with 11 blocked shots.
This has been a great start to the season for Cooke, and it appears he's made a serious effort to play a cleaner game. Hopefully this will continue.
