Penguins

-Matt Cooke (above) pledged change and has delivered.
-What is "stick on puck" and why do the Penguins value it a bunch? (PG+)
-Welcome back Tyler Kennedy... to practice.
-Business casual Dan Bylsma speaks:
-Sidney Crosby speaks:
-MacLeans magazine has a pretty good indepth piece on how Dr. Ted Carrick helped treat Crosby's recovery.
-The Penguins' hockey operations staff (I.E. coaches, trainers, equipment guys, etc.) will participate in "Movember."
-Penguins forward prospect Thomas Kuhnhackl was traded from the OHL's Windsor Spitfires to the Niagara IceDogs.
-Happy 42nd birthday to former Penguins forward Jim McKenzie. Acquired at the 1994 trade deadline in a move which sent Mike Needham to the Stars, McKenzie spent parts of two seasons in Pittsburgh. He finished 1993-94 by appearing in 11 games and failing to record a point. During the lockout-shortned 1994-95 season, McKenzie played in 39 games scored three points and compiled 63 points. In the 1995 offseason, he joined the Islanders as a free agent. In 50 games with the Penguins, McKenzie recorded three points.
-Ilya Brzygalov made 29 saves for the Flyers in a 3-2 win at Buffalo. Luke Adam led the Sabres with a goal and an assist.
-Check out this clutch save by Bryzgalov on Buffalo's Thomas Vanek with roughly 12 seconds left in regulation:
-Flyers forward and former Penguins captain Jaromir Jagr recorded an assist to maintain a five-game scoring streak. Fire Craig Patrick.
-Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur was shaky in his first game back in the lineup since suffering a shoulder injury Oct. 13.
-New Jersey forward Patrik Elias broke the Devils' franchise record for power-play goals with 93. Forward John MacLean previously held the mark.
-Islanders coach Jack Capuano plans on keeping his goaltender trio of Rick DiPietro, Al Montoya and Evgeni Nabokov.
-A hat trick by Joffrey Lupul led the Maple Leafs to a 5-2 win against the Devils. Mikhail Grabovski added a goal and an assist for Toronto while teammates Tim Connolly and Phil Kessel each recorded two assists. Jonas Gustavsson made 19 saves in the victory.
-Lupul's hat trick:
-Save of the Game (and Season?): It wasn't all bad for Brodeur. Check out this amazing stick stave on Kessel:
-Devils forward and former Penguin Petr Sykora was stuffed on a breakaway attempt by Gustavsson:
-Check out this effort on this goal by New Jersey's David Clarkson:
-New Jersey's Brad Mills had issues with Toronto's Mike Brown:

-Ditto Clarkson and Schenn:

-Cool Photo of the night: The Devils' and Maple Leafs' benches:

-Funny Faces of the Night: Toronto's Philippe Dupuis and New Jersey's Mattias Tedenby:

-Third Funny Face of the Night: Clarkson sneaking this puck by Gustavsson:

-Toronto captain Dion Phaneuf > New Jersey's Dainius Zubrus:

-Sabres defenseman and Mars, Pa. native Mike Weber appeared in his first game of the season.
-The Canadiens signed defenseman Jarred Tinordi, a first-round-pick in 2010, to a three-year entry-level contract.
-Former Flames/Capitals/Blue Jackets forward Chris Clark has signed a professional tryout contract with the Providence Bruins, Boston's AHL affiliate.
-Is it really surprising to learn someone as ham-fisted as Maple Leafs overlord Brian Burke would question the science of concussions while also admitting he knows little on the subject?
-Washington captain Alex Ovechkin (right) gave a shifty answer when asked if he called coach Bruce Boudreau a vulgarity when he was benched in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime win against the Ducks.
-Capitals defenseman Mike Green has suffered a set back in his recovery from an ankle injury.
-Washington forward Troy Brouwer is dealing with a wonky shoulder.
-The Capitals demoted defenseman Sean Collins to Hershey of the AHL.
-The Panthers demoted forward Tim Kennedy to San Antonio of the AHL.
-With Hurricanes forward Jussi Jokinen (right) will be sidelined three to four weeks due to a left leg injury, Carolina recalled forward Drayson Bowman from Charlotte of the AHL and activated forward Zac Dalpe ("lower body") from injured reserve and demoted him to Charlotte.
-Blue Jackets forward Jeff Carter (foot) will not be able to play in Saturday's game in Philadelphia. It would have been his first game against his former team since being traded this summer.
-Predators forward Mike Fisher was given medical clearance to resume playing after suffering an "upper-body" injury Saturday.
-The Red Wings demoted forward Gustav Nyquist to Grand Rapids of the AHL.
-Detroit defenseman Niklas Kronwall proclaimed himself fine a day after taking a hit to the head from Wild captain Miikko Koivu.
-Retired St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa will drop the puck for a ceremonial faceoff tonight prior to tonight's Canucks-Blues game.
Northwest Division-Wild coach/former Penguins assistant Mike Yeo had a rather animated conversation with defenseman Marek Zidlicky (right) during practice yesterday. No word yet if Yeo is mad about not being the last name in the team's organization directory in terms of alphabetical order.
(Yes. That joke is terrible. Our apologies.)
-The Oilers recalled defenseman Colten Teubert from Oklahoma City of the AHL and demoted forward Linus Omark to Oklahoma City.
-Two goals by Radim Vrbata led the Coyotes to a 4-1 win against the Avalanche. Ray Whitney recorded two assists for Phoenix while Mike Smith made 39 saves in the victory.
-The Avalanche gave Smith some rough treatment in his own crease. First, T.J. Galiardi sprayed him down with snow:

Then T.J. Galiardi just crashed on top of him:

-Pilot error was blamed in the September plane crash which killed most members of the KHL's Lokomotiv Yaroslavl franchise. Investigators determined he had the wheel brakes on as he attempted to take off.
