Penguins coach Dan Bylsma confirmed Brent Johnson (right) will start in net for tonight's game at Carolina. Johnson has a 1-1-2 record this season with a 2.44 goals against average and .908 save percentage. In his career against the Hurricanes, he has a 7-5-2 record with a 2.71 goals against average, .921 save percentage and one shutout.
For the Hurricanes, all-everything defenseman Joni Pitkanen will not play due to a suspected foot injury. He will be replaced in the lineup by Derek Joslin. In one game this season, Joslin has one assist.
The Hurricanes will start Cam Ward in net despite playing him hin last night's 5-1 road loss to the Rangers. Ward is 5-6-2 this season with a 3.04 goals against average, .909 save percentage and one shutout. In his career against the Penguins, Ward is 10-5-2 with a 2.38 goals against average and .921 save percentage.
