Quite a busy afternoon for the Penguins.
First, defenseman Kris Letang and Zbynek Michalek (right) returned to Pittsburgh for futher medical evaluations. Letang is revoering from a broken nose and has been tested for potential concussion symptoms related to a hit from Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty Satureday.
No word on the nature of Michalek's ailment.
The Penguins also placed forward Steve MacIntyre on injured reserve for an undisclosed ailment. (PG+)
To replace them, the Penguins recalled defensemen Robert Bortuzzo and Alexandre Picard from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL.
Bortuzzo (6-foot-3, 196 pounds) has appeared in one NHL game this season with no points.
Picard (6-foot-3, 215 pounds) has appeared in six NHL games this season and has no points.
