-Dan Bylsma had no problems with the NHL's $2,500 fine against James Neal. (PG+)
-Letang was satisfied with the amount of games Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty was suspended for.
-"If you looked at the situation, me and Letang made eye contact, and I think that's what gave me the green light to try and hit him. I felt he put himself in a vulnerable position, maybe I shouldn't have even thought about hitting him because of the way the wind is blowing right with head shots, but I'd like to see a little bit of consistency. If the onus is on the hitter every single time I'd be fine with a suspension, but you 've seen instances where they've placed the onus on the person receiving the hit as well so I'm confused and a lot of other players are confused right now.” - Pacioretty disagreeing with NHL discipline czar Brendan Shanahan.
-“There are days you feel really good and there are days it feels you really haven’t progressed that much. So you look at the good days as little victories, and you make sure you build on them, but I wouldn’t come back until you’re 100%. That’s my advice; however long it takes, it’s worth the wait.” - Sidney Crosby on how Rangers defenseman Marc Staal (right) should handle his concussion.
-Scott Munroe made 26 saves for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 5-2 loss to the Norfolk Admirals. Nick Petersen recorded two assists for the Penguins.
-Happy 39th birthday to former Penguins forward Sean Pronger. Acquired at the 1998 trade deadline in a deal which sent Patrick Lalime to the Mighty Ducks, Pronger spent parts of two seasons with the Penguins. He finished 1997-98 by appearing in five games and scoring one goal for the Penguins. He appeared in five postseason games that spring and failed to score a point. After two points and no points in 1998-99, Pronger was traded along with Chris Tamer and Petr Nedved to the Rangers in exchange for Alex Kovalev and Harry York. In seven regular season games, Pronger recorded one point.

-Former Red Wings captain Steve Yzerman returns to Detroit for the first time since taking over as the Lightning's general manager.
-The Panthers recalled forward Mark Cullen from San Antonio of the AHL.
