The Penguins demoted defenseman Alexandre Picard (above) and forward Jason Williams to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL.
Picard, 26, has appeared in 11 NHL games this season. He has recorded one assist and is a plus-3.
Williams, 31, has appeared in the Penguins' past two games. He has not scored a point while collecting two penalty minutes.
EN Says: This move is likely procedural as both players on two-way contracts. That said Zbynek Michalek (head) appears to be close to returning to the lineup.
Note: Team Canada announced its roster for the World Junior Championships. Penguins defensive prospect Scott Harrington, the team's second-round pick in this summer's draft, made the final roster. Joe Morrow, the team's first-round pick, did not.
