Trade was definitely still a win. Tangradi is a tweener. I just don't think he's ever going to really stick. At least not in PGH. They should move him and get something. Perhaps as a piece in a deadline deal?

Wouldn't be surprised to see him moved. You don't want to read too much into the fact that he was mad last night, but if he's made it clear to the organization that he is unhappy then I think there is a good chance that they make it known that he is available.

Then again, I remember Bissonnette throwing a fit over not making the roster out of training camp one year and everybody assumed that his days as a Penguin were over and he ended up playing parts of 2 seasons with the big club. You just never know...

I don't know if it's a lack of passion, but for the most part he's invisible in the NHL. Doesn't seem interested in using his size, which should be one of his biggest assets.

You can't just hand a guy top-six minutes because he has been labelled a "top prospect". Bylsma has a Cup and a Jack Adams, there's a reason that when he plays Tangradi is on the 4th line.

I'm torn about him. I have expected more on the NHL level, but he is only 22. I know that's 'old' for some prospects. Guess I'm just holding out hope he'll turn into something.

You're right that he's still really young, but we don't even see flashes of the guy he was supposed to be. Can't recall ever saying "wow, what a shift by Tangradi". He was supposed to be a beast around the net and have a mean streak but he just looks uninspired and lost out there.

I'm kind of conflicted about Tangradi as well. You see minutes and playing time going to Jason Williams and you wonder why Tangradi can't get a real shot (more than these 3 game stretches), but the Pens coaches see more of him than we do. You get the impression that they're not happy with his effort or play. I know he's supposed to be a top-6 guy, but it's hard to carve out minutes for him when he doesn't bust his rear on the 4th line.
