Penguins defenseman Zbynek Michalek and Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin will each have discplinary hearings today with the NHL over hits which occurred in Sunday's 4-3 Penguins' overtime win at Consol Energy Center.
Ovechkin's hit occurred at 4:05 of the second period when he left the ice to strike Michalek in the right wing corner of the Penguins' zone. According to its release, the NHL determined Ovechkin struck Michalek in the head.

The hit was not penalized.
At 8:36 of the second, Michalek struck Capitals forward Matt Hendricks in the back of the head with a forearm or elbow. Michalek was given an elbowing minor for the hit. The hit:
Ovechkin has one previous suspension in his career. Michalek has never received supplementary discipline in his career.
