-With Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews dealing with an arm injury, Flyers forward Scott Hartnell was added to the All-Star Lame Game roster.

-The Rangers recalled former Penguins forward Erik Christensen from Connecticut of the AHL.
-The Rangers also recalled former Penguins goaltending prospect Chad Johnson from Connecticut.
-Two goals, including one in overtime, and an assist by Clarke MacArthur gave the Maple Leafs a 4-3 win against the Islanders. Mikhail Grabovski added a goal and three assists for Toronto while teammate Jake Gardiner added a goal and an assist. Jonas Gustavsson made 29 saves in the victory.

-A hat trick by Mathieu Perreault led the Capitals to a 5-3 win against the Bruins. Roman Hamrlik recorded two assists for Washington while Tomas Vokoun made 29 saves. Patrice Bergeron and Dennis Seidenberg each recorded two assists for Boston.

-Captain Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St. Louis each had a goal and an assist for the Lightning which defeated the Blue Jackets 4-2. Former Penguin Mathieu Garon made 22 saves for Tampa Bay which has won four consecutive game. Fire Ray Shero. Plum native R.J. Umberger recorded two assists for Columbus.

-Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin opted to not attend the All-Star game declairing: “My heart is not there. I got suspended, so why I have to go there?. I love the game, it’s a great event, I love to be there but I’m suspended. I don’t want to be a target. I feel I’m not deserving to be there right now. I got suspended, I have to be suspended, so that’s why I give up my roster [spot].”
-Hurricanes defenseman Joni Pitkanen could be sidelined until March due to head and knee injuries.
-The Hurricanes demoted forward Zac Dalpe to Charlotte of the AHL.
-Knee surgery will sideline defenseman Dmitry Kulkov for six to eight weeks.

-Kari Lehtonen made 27 saves for the Stars in a 1-0 shutout of the Ducks. A day after signing a contract extension, former Penguins defenseman Alex Goligoski scored the game's only goal. Fire Ray Shero. Dallas snapped a five-game losing streak.
-Antti Niemi made 25 saves for the Sharks in a 1-0 shutout of the Flames. San Jose snapped a three-game losing streak.
