Penguins center Evgeni Malkin had a goal and an assist and helped Team Chara defeat Team Alfredsson, 12-9, in the All-Star Game at ScotiaBank Place in Ottawa.
Malkin scored the game's second goal against Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist at 5:38 of the first period. He recorded a primary assist on a goal by Flames captain Jarome Iginla at 7:38 of the third.
Penguins defenseman Kris Letang and left winger James Neal each recorded assists for Team Alfredsson. Letang had a secondary assist on a goal by Canucks captain Henrik Sedin at 12:51 of the first. Neal recorded the primary assist on a goal by Sabres captain Jason Pominville at 7:17 of the second period.
It was the first time three Penguins players recorded points in an all-star game since 1996 when Mario Lemieux, Jaromir Jagr and Ron Francis did it.
