The Penguins, hockey and more, by the PG's Seth Rorabaugh. |

To this point of the season, Marc-Andre Fleury has appeared in 43 of the Penguins' 51 games. That's 84 percent of the schedule thus far.
If he were to maintain that pace, Fleury would appear in almost 69 games. That total would be a career high.
Earlier this week, Dan Bylsma said he wanted a "60/20" ratio in terms of games played by Fleury and back up Brent Johnson in order to keep Fleury fresh for the playoffs.
Since the 2003, no starting goaltender in the Stanley Cup final has played more than 62 regular games. In fact, since that season, only one goaltender - Fleury - has played more than 60 games in the regular season - and won the Stanley Cup as his team's primary starter in the postseason.
A look at every Cup finalist and how they spread games played among their goaltenders:

Notes:
-Huet served as Chicago's starter for most of the 2009-10 regular season before Huet took over as starter later in the season.
-Leighton missed much of the regular season and postseason due to a high-ankle sprain.
-Ward was Gerber's back up all of the 2005-06 season. Gerber even started the first two games of the playoffs until Ward replaced him.
-Roloson was acquired at the trade deadline from the Wild. He was the Oilers' starting goaltender throughout the playoffs until suffering a knee injury in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup final. Markkanen and Conklin replaced him for the rest of the series.
