The Penguins had demoted forwards Colin McDondald (right) and Jason Williams to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL.
McDonald, 27, has played in five NHL games this season and has not scored. In 41 AHL games, he has scored 38 points (12 goals, 26 assists).
McDonald represented the Penguins in the AHL's all-star game.
Williams, 31, has played in eight NHL games this season and has scored two points (one goal, one assist). In 35 AHL games, he has scored 31 points (seven goals, 24 assists).
EN Says: This could be a good sign in regards to Jordan Staal's health. If nothing else, it's procedural since the NHL club doesn't play for three days and both players are on two-way contracts.
