For all intents and purposes, the Penguins' current top line of Chris Kunitz (right), Evgeni Malkin and James Neal was born Dec. 10 on Long Island.

Sidney Crosby had missed his second game due to his latest injury set back and Dan Bylmsa moved Kunitz off Crosby's line and paired him with Neal and Malkin.

That night, the Penguins beat the Islanders 6-3 as those players combined for six points.

If and when Crosby does come back, should the team reunited him with Kunitz and Pascal Dupuis or should Kunitz remain with Neal and Malkin?

Here are Neal's and Malkin's numbers with Kunitz and Steve Sullivan, who was the primary left winger on that line prior to Dec. 10:

When Sid played earlier this year Bylsma actually played him with Malkin. 16 days till the deadline and I can only hope the Pens can move Martin or Michalek.

But how many neat videos are there of Kunitz dishing it back to a heckler? Advantage Sullivan!

Nice stuff, Seth. I wonder, however, how much of this improvement is due to Kunitz joining the [current] #1 line, and how much is related to Malkin stepping up and elevating his game - which he clearly did.

It's probably a combination of both things.
