Just read in the Trib that Marzett Geter of Sto Rox is complaining about Pitt signing too many cornerbacks. I'm wondering out loud if this kid is really worthy of walking on campus?

Don't need a kid ripping the program he is ready to go to before he even gets there. Let him walk...he doesn't realize also, that some corners will be moved to S or WR eventually. All he has to do is look at Yuri Wright from Bosco Prep to see what can happen if you say foolish things on Twitter.

Dakota Conwell probably made the worst decision of his life, Arizona?! I trust Rich Rodriguez about as much as some sleazy used car salesman. Beyond trusting the guy, he sure had a lot of success at Michigan haha I'm sure Arizona and Conwell bought all his excuses for why he failed so miserably in one to top programs in the country. One where someone came in and in year one won big haha that speaks volumes, he may never win big again. WVU kept winning after he left just the same.

I think it's a downgrade to go to Arizona, but that's just me. Maybe weather was his number 1 criterion for picking a school, if so he wins there. Academically alone Pitt is way better: Pitt is ranked 52 and Arizona is ranked 124. Makes no sense, if I had to pick between two new coaches, it would be Cryst. I trust Barry Alvarez recommending someone, I trust nothing about R Rod. No better chances of winning either, Pitt appears to have had better recruiting classes. ACC vs Pac 12 a wash.

PAC-12 is far better than the ACC...at the top and at the bottom. No one in the ACC compares with Oregon and Stanford (and USC again, very soon). And no one in the PAC-12 (even Wash St) is as bad as Duke, Maryland or Boston College.

Report: Rutgers interested in Temple's Addazio

Addazio was also Illinois' first choice but he told them he wasn't interested.

He is the new hot commodity... has demonstated himself as a complete coach in one year at Temple.

Let's hope he stays at Temple. If he were to get named this weekend at Rutgers it would make it tough for Chryst to lure away any recruits.

However, a simple message either from Zeise or someone else at PG explaining the situation would have been nice.

I think that pulling Geter's scholarship - especially after both Pederson and Chryst have publicly stated that PITT will honor all the scholarships offered - is about the dumbest thing that can happen.

Throw the fact that Geter is a WPIAL recruit and Chryst needs to be on the good side of the WPIAL coaches, players and their families.

The kid is probably 18 years old and has a bit of a big head, not unusual at all for HS athletes. This is no real indication of how he'll be once he gets on the campus.

Chryst already told Jones of Penn Hills he would be better off going somewhere else... Penn Hills 4A who has a history of D1 prospects. Chyrst doesn't need to be on the "good" side of wpial coaches.. he just needs to be fair with what he does.

I dont think I have ever heard any coach publicly tell a kid to go somewhere else but I am digging that. A 5'9" reciever probably isn't going to flurish in a pro style-run first oriented offense...so kudos to Chryst for being upfront about it. I think the WPIAL coaches ought to enjoy some honesty and Chryst already seems like he knows the landscape here...why didnt we hire him earlier?

If Rutgers announces an outsider, what does that do to all the assts who have been the recruiters and have the relationships with the recruits? I would think that would be the death knell for their recruiting class this year, unless the outsider is sooo big it overcomes the obvious. That seem unlikely. Pitt should be ringing the phones off the hook for the better Rutgers OL recruits.

Joe D - tweeting that you think PITT has made a poor decision sure isn't grounds for dismissal, it's an opinion and maybe even a valid one. Personally I'd rather see a second QB of another OL/DL before another DB this recruiting class.

Geter said pretty much the same things but in a more self-centered way. But really and was trying to get an edge for a friend to land a scholarship also., pulling a scholarship because of something as minor as this is not only small and petty it sends a terrible message to future recruits and their families.
