Just in case you were wonderin'
Woodland Hills is facing a Manatee, Fla., team Saturday that runs an offense similar to West Virginia's. So Woodland Hills is going to a former West Virginia player for some pointers.
Wesley Lyons, pictured to the left, is a Woodland Hills graduate who played receiver at West Virginia only a year ago.
"Wes Lyons has been helping Coach Morton out this week. Just showing us some of the things West Virginia does on offense," said Woodland Hills coach Goerge Novak.
"Coach Morton" is Woodland Hills defensive coordinator Bill Morton. Woodland Hills is playing Manatee Saturday night at 8 p.m. in the Rally at the Wolvarena.

The Harrisburg Patriot-News has come out with its state rankings. Two of the No. 1 teams are the same as the Post-Gazette - North Penn in Class AAAA and Dunmore in Class A. But the Patriot-News has Allentown Central Catholic No. 1 in Class AAA and Lancaster Catholic No. 1 in Class AA. The Post-Gazette has Bishop McDevitt (Class AAA) and Aliquippa (AA).
Here are the Patriot-News rankings.
Top games on Friday night
Looking for a good game to attend on Friday night? Try one of these:
Chartiers Valley at Montour - Post-Gazette game of the week
Hopewell at Belle Vernon - Catch Rushel Shell's act, but Belle Vernon has a pretty good RB, too, in Matt Green.
North Catholic at Springdale - A conference game matching two of the top five teams in Class A.
Perry at North Hills - Most of the City League teams are playing WPIAL teams. That hasn't happened on the first night of the season for a long time. Can Perry and QB Greg McGhee stay with North Hills?

Sweat starting for Buckeyes
Remember Andrew Sweat, former linebacker at Trinity High School? He has moved into the starting lineup at Ohio State. Mike Kovach of the Observer-Reporter has a good read on Sweat. Here is the link to the Observer-Reporter. Then go to sports to see the article.

HAVE NO IDEA WHY THIS GAME WAS NOT INCLUDED AS A 'TOP GAME' - STATE COLLEGE WAS PA AAAA STATE RUNNER-UP LAST YEAR.
