Varsity Blog program note: I'll have a live blog from tonight's Montour-New Castle game in the second round of the state basketball playoffs. Tomorrow, I'll have a live blog from the Class AAAA doubleheader - Gateway vs. Mt. Lebanon, and Allderdice vs. Butler. We'll have reports from other games as well.

Two WPIAL wrestlers were selected to the Pennsylvania team for the 37th annual Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic, March 27 at Pitt's Fitzgerald Field House. They are Franklin Regional's Nico Megaludis and Burrell's Travis McKillop.

Dapper Dan officials released the rosters this morning. Pennsylvania will wrestle the USA team in the feature match at 6 p.m. In the preliminary match at 4 p.m., the WPIAL will take on Michigan. (Team Michigan's roster has not been finalized). Here are the rosters.

Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend the Shaler vs. Oakland Catholic nor the BP vs. Lebo game at NH. If anybody could provide an update or game summaries, please do. I would appreciate it.

I know that this is a sports blog. However, I've been following the issues up there in Wisconsin with the politicos through the Milwaukee Journal & Sentinel. I did see this article in MJS about Jesse Thielke from Wisconsin wrestling for Team USA at the Classic. He's a very talented wrestler.

The kid wrestling for USA... at 215 from NJ... I don't think he lost a match in 4 years... and was NJ champ for 4 years (probably different weights).

Campolattano... 175-1 over a 4 year career. 4 Time NJ state champion.
Was committed to Rutgers football as linebacker but decommitted before signing day.. he is pursuing wrestling in college. don't know which college.
